Our Office originally belonged to Jinchen Town Office and only had a household registration clerk, the Director who was also the town chief, and the household registration tasks were handled by village staff members. In order to improve social security and the system of “household registration offices working as police stations” in 1972, the government transferred town household registration offices under the supervision of Kinmen County Police. Our Office still had one household registration clerk, the Director was also the chief of the police station, and household registration application stations were established in different villages where village staff handled household registration tasks. In order to complement the conclusion of war-time administration and the lift of martial law, return to the state of democracy, and achieve local self-governance, our county terminated the policy implemented in June 1, 1993 and is now under the direct supervision of the county government. We continue to conduct household registration tasks in order to achieve local self-governance.
